List of villages
Sirasu: 690 metres
Dhamond: 1500 metres (approx.)
Chopta: 2700 metre

Our base village is located 22 kms ahead of Rishikesh, across River Ganges (Ganga) on our way to Badrinath. Located adjacent to the pleateau named Bhairava Nagar, this is a huge village with families scattered to more than 3 kms away from each other. Due to its proximity with northern plains of India, this village is modernizing rapidly. With more and more villagers replacing their traditional huts to cement houses.

Second village is 4 hrs drive from our base village. After 2 hrs drive alongside River Ganga, we will take another road towards Pauri (1890 mtrs). Pauri is a district centre of Garhwal and typical Garhwali town. This Devprayag-Pauri road will take you to small but famous market for locals named Sabdharkhal. After 3 kms easy trek (govt. is preparing motor road to this village which will be completed by end of 2009) you will reach your second village- Dhamond. This village is perfect case study for one who would like to study how these mountain people are migrating to bigger cities for their basic needs. With only 10-15 villagers left in this village, our organization is planning to start fresh project for this village to generate mode of income. Location of this village is beautiful and time comes to a standstill.

Chopta Region:
Third region will be most scenic and also known as Switzerland of India due to its meadows. One of the most picturesque spots in the entire Garhwal region, Chopta provides a breathtaking view of the Himalayan ranges and the surrounding areas. This is highly sensitive area and it is also protected by Govt. of India. Chopta is also known as a gateway to Tungnath Temple.
